Basics about HamRig

What is HamRig?

HamRig is a premium remote operation suite for amateur radio. It connects your radios to a secure gateway and provides a modern web interface for control, audio, and collaboration.

What do I need to get started?

You need a supported Icom radio, a computer running the HamRig Gateway, and reliable internet. Follow the Getting Started guide.

Connectivity & Audio

WebRTC, firewalls, and quality

Why can’t I hear audio?

Check browser permissions, gateway audio device selection, and that your network allows UDP for WebRTC. See Troubleshooting for detailed steps.

Does HamRig work behind restrictive firewalls?

Yes, with TURN/STUN and fallback modes depending on your deployment. See the Support Matrix for network requirements.

Sharing & Clubs

Invites, permissions, and schedules

What’s the difference between Control and TX permissions?

Control allows operating the radio UI. TX permits transmit. Admins can combine or limit these based on station policy.

Can I schedule time on a shared radio?

Yes. Use the Schedules page to request or book a time window. Clubs can define booking rules and quiet hours.
