Gathering your operating sites

Where your station stands

A location is the place a radio, rotator or switch physically lives — and it is the first thing HamRig asks for, because a radio cannot be added without one. It carries the coordinates and the Maidenhead locator, so distances, beam headings and log entries are computed from where you really are.

It holds your gear

Radios, rotators and switch boards belong to a location. Equipment at the same place can be linked together.

It sets your QTH

One location is your primary. Logbook, maps and the beam-heading maths start from it.

It can belong to a club

A club site is shared: members reach the equipment standing there without owning it.

Three ways to pin it down

Portable or /P from several sites? Add one location per site — each keeps its own locator, and the one you mark as primary is the one the rest of HamRig assumes.
